Blossoming the Child

An Intensive on Rewilding our children and rediscovering our primal parent.

For educators, parents, aunts and uncles, grandparents, and anyone else

who wants to see children again be their naturally intended selves.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we will postpone this course to a later time this year. Please check back to see the new dates.

The inner nature of children is Nature. They are designed by and for Nature, they are drawn to Nature, and they are nurtured by Nature. Children who are raised in alignment with Nature’s ways are present, engaged, and creative. This workshop, based on Tamarack Song’s new book Blossoming the Child: A Guide to Primal Parenting, gives you the tools — and inspiration — to help your children (and those in your care) fully bloom into their naturally intended selves.

A large part of the process involves connecting with your own intrinsic nature, so that you can complement and support your child’s. That makes the workshop just as relevant for your inner child as it is for your children. Even if you have no children, you’ll find this workshop experience to be a healing and awakening journey.

Whatever your child’s age, there is no time like the present to begin. Lifelong relational patterns are largely established by age three; and the older the child, the more influence outside values and stereotypes have upon her. Still, it is entirely possible to support your child’s blossoming into her intrinsic self, no matter what her age.

The place to start is in your heart and mind. Let this workshop engage you in expansive thinking, which is the first—and most essential—step to any change. The guided explorations, exercises, and examples will then meet you where you are and take you forward. A Blossoming vision then emerges spontaneously from the freed child within you.

In this workshop, you learn how to help children:

  • Be the unique individuals they are and develop their special talents.
  • Speak their Truths and be true to who they are.
  • See things in their own unique ways, with the enthusiasm to explore and discover.
  • Teach themselves, with experience, play, and stories as the Master Teachers.

In addition, you find out if you are a childhood-deprived parent, why compliments harm, why your children should not come first, and how to let children go so they can grow. We explore what happens when children hear things like: “What a good little girl you are,” “I said ‘No’,” “You’re making me angry,” “Let me fix that for you,” “Tell the truth!” “I want you to…,” and “Say you’re sorry.” You are given tips on how to restore the children’s culture and the all-important extended family.

Throughout the workshop, we troubleshoot issues that come up in your day-to-day life as parents.

Your Guides

Lety Seibel and Tamarack Song have raised two generations of children, and they serve as grandparents for a large international extended family. Lety brings parenting practices from her Mayan heritage and the Curandera grandmother who raised her. Tamarack shares what he learned from living with Wolf pups and apprenticing to indigenous Elders. In 2012-13, Lety and Tamarack served as Elders for the Family Wilderness Guide Program, a year-long wilderness immersion experience that included twenty-five adults and seventeen children ranging in age from two to fifteen.
