Surrender

A deep-listening immersion
into breath, music, movement, the senses
and the mystic journey they take us on
during this mostly silent three-day retreat

July 31st – Aug 2nd, 2021

You are invited to the heart of the Northwoods for an uncommon workshop — a retreat that offers the space to take a deep breath. This rapidly changing world begs our full presence and unlocked gifts. For a number of us, the COVID-19 pandemic has been a wake-up call. Many of the activities that previously filled our calendars and occupied our minds have been out of reach, and we need to adjust our focus.

Our streets have been echoing with unrest and anger over what we’ve come to accept as “the way things are.” What does this mean for our future? How are our priorities shifting? The differences in beliefs have led to divisions in our society that cause pain and loss.

Surrender is an invitation to approach this historic point in time as an opportunity not to be missed. We have designed this largely silent experience to foster a fresh connection with self, a revitalized sense of presence in the world, and an opening to receive what the moment holds for us. In this largely experiential, outdoor event, we create precious openings for Nature to help us release the patterned behaviors, old beliefs, and preconceived notions that hold us back. Here is our chance to see with fresh eyes what is now important to us — and our world — and to help manifest it by stepping into our power.

Each day begins with a silent moving meditation on the Turf Labyrinth, Aquatic Labyrinth, or Zen Untangle, followed by an exercise to awaken and celebrate the senses. The Nature-immersion experiences used throughout the workshop are designed to foster mindful vibrancy as we surrender to what is. Surrender is a silent retreat other than during short periods of guidance and instruction. In addition, you may choose to have the retreat be a fasting experience.

To access the healing and enlightening gifts of Nature, we’ll be using:

  • Forest and Wildflower Aromatherapy
  • Water and Earth Grounding
  • Conscious Breathing in Nature
  • Movement Therapy, to strengthen body-mind-spirit connection
  • On-water meditation, in canoes
  • Labyrinth-walking meditations
  • The Dragon’s Breath for releasing toxic stress
  • New listening skills, to hear Nature’s voice and understand her universal language
  • Primal Trance Dance, to access deep memories and feelings
  • The Dead Breath exercise, to strengthen lungs and increase oxygenation
  • Fire, to connect with the core passion of all life
  • The Celestial Labyrinth, to hear the haunting voices of deep space
  • Experience simple rustic living and wilderness hygiene
  • and more

With the current social and political climate, we can easily feel isolated. Or we can choose connection. Come join fellow seekers and immerse in the nurturing community of Elder Pines, Wildflowers, and Birds. Here is safe space to renew relationship with our own nature and the nature around us, and to feel in our hearts that they are one and the same. Find the depth of meaning and relationship that is you — and that can make a difference. Respond to this unique moment in our history by giving yourself (and a loved one as well?) the gift of Surrender.. Release yourself to the breath, music, and movement waiting to take you on the mystic journey home to your true self.

Your Guides

For the first time in a group format, Healing Nature Center founders Lety Seibel and Tamarack Song are presenting the core Nature-immersion modalities they work with. Lety and Tamarack are elders in the Forest Therapy movement. They received their training from traditional practitioners of many cultures, as well as directly from Mother Nature.
